      Focus Staff is seeking a traveling First Assist RN to assist and work alongside a surgeon during preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.
       
      Contract Assignment – 13 Weeks (Temporary)

      • Assist surgeon in general and specialized surgeries
      • Prepare patients for surgery
      • Provide patient care and support
      • Administer medications
      • Practice surgical procedures such as controlling bleeding and suturing incisions, draping, providing exposure, and handling tissue
      • Prepare all necessary supplies
      • Position and prepare the patient on the operating table
      • Monitor the patient’s vital signs and heart rate
      • Educate patient and family on operation and aftercare
      • Perform post-operative assessments and monitoring
      • Perform CPR or emergency measures if required
      • All other responsibilities as needed

      • Assist in set-up and cleanup of treatment rooms
      • Assist Physician in the treatment of superficial venous incompetence with Endovenous Laser Treatments (EVLT)
      • Maintain equipment and supply inventory
      • Triage's patient phone inquiries according to physician and/or departmental protocols and documents such actions in patients' medical records
      • May provide working supervision and delegates tasks to vocational nurses, non-licensed medical staff, or office support personnel in future
      • Vascular Tech, Proficiency in electronic medical record documentation
      • Scrub experience and/or working alongside a physician during minimally invasive vascular procedures is a plus
      • Maintain safe, clean, and organized work environment for co-workers, visitors, patients, and physician
      • All other duties as assigned

      Requirements

      • Ability to relate positively to residents and families and work cooperatively with other employees.
      • Capable of maintaining regular attendance.
      • Meet all local health regulations, and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment.
      • Physical and sensory requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices): walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to hear and respond to pages; ability to read and write; ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with residents, families, personnel, vendors and consultants; ability to remain calm under stress; ability to distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures.
