We’re pleased to announce that Maria Diaz (RN) is our Traveler of the Month for February. A valuable part of the Focus Staff team, Maria is a great example of a talented and hardworking travel nurse!
A dedicated nursing professional, Maria’s travel career began in May 2019 – with Focus Staff being her first (and only) agency. She is currently a traveler at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio where she’s completed multiple extensions on the Med Surg unit. Time and again she has proven to be a valued member of her team, lending her talents to multiple units including PCU, ER, Med Surg, and COVID-19.

“My two favorite travel assignments were Panama City Beach Florida Gulf Coast Hospital and San Antonio Texas Methodist Hospital.”
Why She Enjoys Being a Travel Nurse
“I like to know about the state and its tourist areas. I’m very adventurous and feel like I’m on vacation all the time. Plus in every assignment, you learn from and get to know other very dedicated nurses.”
Any Other Awards or Recognition?
“I was nominated for the Daisy Award in Panama City, Florida and recognized for dedication and compassion in helping others, including COVID-19 patients.”
Hobbies Outside of Traveling?
“I started a Facebook Group called “A Diary of a Gipsy Nurse”, that shares insights, educational topics, and travel adventures with other healthcare travelers. The page includes photos from different locations and is a lot of fun!”
