What are your minimum requirements to be a travel healthcare professional?

You must have a valid degree from an accredited healthcare professional program in the United States or Canada and have passed the national licensure exam. If you will be seeking work in a different state, we will guide you through the licensure process for that state. If your desired facility has specific additional requirements, we will work with you to fulfill those requirements.


Where can I work as a healthcare professional?

As a skilled healthcare provider, your services are needed practically everywhere in the country. Focus Staff offers positions in large towns, small cities and everything in between. When you speak with an advisor, you’ll be able to discuss your preferences, and we will make every effort to find you the right assignment.


Is there any obligation after talking to an advisor at Focus Staff? Is there any cost for accepting an assignment?

No, there is no obligation just for starting the interview process. There is absolutely no cost for your job placement.


Does Focus Staff offer temporary and permanent positions?

Yes. We have a contract, temp-to-perm, and direct placement positions available in a broad range of specialties in hospitals, home-health agencies, school systems, long-term-care facilities, government institutions, clinics, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient facilities and acute care facilities.


How can I learn specifics about an assignment before accepting it?

Focus Staff will discuss every opportunity in detail, including specifics such as salary, facility, location, and duration. We’ll even include details such as the size and type of the facility, the types of patients you will treat, training and equipment, etc.


I like the assignment and decide to accept the offer. What’s next?

Congratulations! Your advisor will contact you to review all the necessary paperwork and guide you through the compliance and credentialing process, if necessary. We will review and coordinate your housing and transportation needs. We want to make sure that you arrive on your first day ready, equipped, and enthusiastic.


For what types of facilities do you offer assignments?

Focus Staff offers assignments in a variety of facilities such as hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, inpatient rehab clinics, school systems, home healthcare groups and more. You’ll have the ability to choose from a wide variety of options.


What type of support do you provide me while on assignment?

Focus Staff offers 24-hour emergency support while you are on assignment. If an issue ever arises, we are always just a phone call away at (877) 293-6287.


How long does it take to get licensed?

This can depend on several factors, including the number of licenses you currently hold and the requirements of each state’s licensure board. Consult with your advisor, to make sure you are prepared with your licensing requirements before your next assignment.
